Bull Riding
Always exciting to watch, cowboys do their best to stay atop a wild and unpredictable bucking bull for eight seconds.
Bareback Bronc
Leaning back with just a small strap rigging handle to hold on to, bareback riders try to stay on a bucking horse without a saddle or rein.
Team Roping
Two teammates must work together to rope a steer around the horns, neck, or a horn-neck combination, then tie up both of the steer’s hind legs.
Calf Roping
Mounted cowboys must capture a running calf, then dismount and tie any three of its legs together with a “piggin’ string”.
Steer Wrestling
Jumping from a horse, competitors have to grab a steer by the horns and wrestle it to the ground in the fastest time possible.
Saddle Bronc
Riders attempt to stay on a bucking horse using a specialized saddle with free-swinging stirrups and no saddle horn along with a simple rein.
Barrel Racing
Horses and riders compete for the best time as they navigate around barrels and race to the finish line. PeeWee Jr. Barrels are also part of the rodeo.
Breakaway Roping
Similar to calf roping but without the tie down, this timed event also gives the calf a head start before the rider has to get a lasso around its neck.
Wild Cow Milking
Teams compete to catch and milk a wild cow. Fastest time wins!
We love the rodeo! Always a good time.
Long Beach has a professional rodeo with lots of talent on display.
Awesome. Our family goes every year.
The steer wrestling & calf roping are my favorites.
So much fun!! Our kids love it.
Looking forward to the bull riders and bareback bronc.
My daughter likes the horses and flag teams.
Long Beach Rodeo is a summer tradition.
We bring our out of town guests to the Long Beach rodeo, they always enjoy it.
My favorite is barrel racing, esp. the PeeWee Jr. races.
See you at the Cowboy breakfast!
